COLOUM MOUNTED JIB CRANE

A column-mounted jib crane (also called a pillar jib crane) is a freestanding industrial crane with:

  • A vertical column fixed securely to the floor (usually on a foundation),

  • A horizontal arm or boom extending outward,

  • A slewing mechanism that lets the boom rotate — typically 180°–360° depending on design and space,

  • A hoist and trolley that travels along the boom to lift and lower loads.

This setup lets you lift and move materials around a work cell or station without needing overhead rails or wall support.

Where It’s Used

Column-mounted jib cranes are widely used in:

🔹 Workstations & Machine Shops – Lift heavy parts to and from machines.
🔹 Assembly Lines – Move components quickly between stations.
🔹 Warehouses & Storage – Loading/unloading pallets and equipment.
🔹 Maintenance Areas – Position heavy tools or parts for servicing.
🔹 Outdoor or Yard Tasks – With proper coating and design for outdoor use
